I am a farmer's daughter and vet born and bred in beautiful South West Scotland where I grew up constantly surrounded by animals. I always loved drawing when I was young but it would be almost 20 years till I picked up a pencil again lying in a hospital bed! I am lucky enough now to be able to combine my passion for farming and drawing.

Apart from the farm I am also learning photography to take my own reference photos, especially of wildlife and birds. My jack russell is my best friend and is usually never far away, often found lying at my feet anytime I am drawing.

I aim  to capture the unique character and spirit of every animal I draw, be it a memorial portrait of a much loved pet, a prize winning tup or any of the spectacular wildlife I am lucky enough to have on my doorstep.  It is a privilege to draw each and every animal I am commissioned to, all done with heartfelt attention to detail.
